1. Castor Oil

Castor oil is a vegetable oil obtained by pressing the seeds of the castor oil plant (Ricinus communis).

Castor oil is a colorless to very pale yellow liquid with a distinct taste and odor once first ingested. Its boiling point is 313 °C (595 °F) and its density is 961 kg/m3.[3] It is a triglyceride in which approximately 90 percent of fatty acid chains are ricinoleates. Oleate and linoleates are the other significant components.

2. Ricinoleic Acid

Ricinoleic acid (12- hydroxy-9-cis-octadecenoic acid) is a light coloured, unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid that naturally occurs in mature castor plant (Ricinus communis L., Euphorbiaceae) which constitutes for about 90% of the castor oil.

Ricinoleic acid is obtained from castor oil through hydrolysis, usually carried out under basic conditions. Industrially, ricinoleic acid is manufactured by saponification or fractional distillation of hydrolyzed castor oil.

5. Hydrogenated Castor Oil

Hydrogenated castor oil, is a hard, brittle, vegetable wax. It is produced by the hydrogenation (chemical combination with hydrogen) of pure castor oil, in the presence of a nickel catalyst. It is odorless and insoluble in water

The Hydrogenated Castor Oil chemical formula of this material is C57H110O9(CH2CH2O)n. In the case of HCO, this increases the oil’s stability and raises its melting point, transforming it into a solid at room temperature.

7. PEG (Polyethylene Glycol)

Polyethylene glycol is produced by the interaction of ethylene oxide with water, ethylene glycol, or ethylene glycol oligomers. The reaction is catalyzed by acidic or basic catalysts. Ethylene glycol and its oligomers are preferable as a starting material instead of water, because they allow the creation of polymers with a low polydispersity

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is a polyether compound with many applications from industrial manufacturing to medicine. The structure of PEG is commonly expressed as H−(O−CH2−CH2)n−OH.

8. TWEEN

TWEEN 80 is a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier often used in foods, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. This synthetic compound is a viscous, water-soluble yellow liquid.

TWEEN 80 is derived from polyethoxylated sorbitan and oleic acid. The hydrophilic groups in this compound are polyethers also known as polyoxyethylene groups, which are polymers of ethylene oxide.

9. TEA (Triethanolamine)

Triethanolamine is produced from the reaction of ethylene oxide with aqueous ammonia, also produced are ethanolamine and diethanolamine. The ratio of the products can be controlled by changing the stoichiometry of the reactants.

Triethanolamine (TEA) is a viscous organic compound that is both a tertiary amine and a triol. A triol is a molecule with three alcohol groups. Triethanolamine is a strong base.It is a colourless compound although samples may appear yellow because of impurities.
